# Enable use of time zones

> Activating time zones

1. Go to Settings and maintenance and select <i class="ph ph-sliders-horizontal" aria-hidden="true" /> **Options**.
2. Select the **Time zones** tab.
3. Click **Enable time zones**.
4. Select the default time zone in the dialog. You can change this later.
5. Click **Save**. The list of time zones is enabled.
6. If the **Download new time zone updates** link is shown at the top of the screen, click it to update the time zones in SuperOffice.

  Go to **Preferences** to show the time zone selector and set the default time zone.
